Meet your Guide
Hiking is firmly rooted in my lifestyle and Western Canadian expeditions are my passion. All of the Slow Down Tours locations and hikes are thoroughly selected and focus not on quantity but a quality experience that fosters appreciation of wilderness and a more relaxed pace for your vacation.
I can't wait to show you my favorite places and share my joy for Canada.
Anna Klimek - Founder & Owner
Anna grew up in Germany and completed her studies in educational science in Düsseldorf. Afterwards, she developed a fascination for working as an Outdoor Educator and pursued her personal dream to move to Canada. Adventures from hiking in the Canadian Rockies to canoeing the Athabasca River spawned a deeper meaning of what nature has to offer and how outdoor experiences mobilize processes of change and resilience.
Since 2007, Anna’s experience includes working for several companies as a Tour Director and Interpretive Guide on multi-day tours in Western Canada, Atlantic Canada and Southwestern USA as well as teaching outdoor recreational skills for schools in Vancouver, Hong Kong and China.
Anna holds a Certificate in Wilderness Leadership from Capilano University in Vancouver, where she also lives and spends her days hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing.

The three weeks were unforgettable for me and you played a big part in that.
I experienced every single day as wonderful and I can’t remember, when my head was the last time so free of worry. I couldn’t have imagined a better guide.
Her efficiency, honesty, and helpfulness and her friendly, amiable demeanor made her a very popular partner both with our customers and with her colleagues. We would like to especially comment her outstanding knowledge of regional culture and geography, her excellent English language skills, and the broad spectrum of her general knowledge.
