Why travel with Slow Down Tours?

Slow Down Tours specializes in providing high quality nature experiences in British Columbia. BC. has some of the most geographically diverse landscapes in Canada. Who is a Slow Down Tours Traveler?

Our clients are travelers from around the globe, who are looking for an active adventure but don't want their vacation memory to be a blur. They are looking for a quality guided vacation where they can go on great hikes, learn about their surroundings, and unwind at the end of the day.

What happens on a typical tour day?

After breakfast we drive to our hike for the day. Typically we suggest between 2-5 hours of activity each day.

Lunch can be enjoyed while on your hike or at a beautiful picnic site. In the late afternoon, we return to our hotel were people can relax or continue our journey onto the next destination. Dinner can be in selected restaurants with the entire group or alone; do as you prefer.

Is hiking required on all of your tours?

We cater to all ability levels. We refer you to the itinerary and physical grading of each tour for more information.

What shoes and clothing should I wear for the hikes?

We recommend that you wear hiking boots with a mid or high boot design. These will protect your ankles better from twists when hiking on uneven terrain. In addition, soles with good tread can grab on to rocks and slippery surfaces. Quick-dry or soft-shell outdoor pants are preferable to jeans, which can stay wet. For the same reason, wool socks are preferable to cotton socks. A waterproof outer layer is also highly recommended in the event of rain.

Do I need to have travel and health insurance?

Yes! Adequate travel and emergency medical insurance is essential and is your responsibility.

Trip cancellation insurance can protect you from a loss if you need to cancel on short notice. We also suggest you ensure you are covered for any personal injury and emergency medical rescue expenses that may arise from any day of travel with Slow Down Tours.
